Carl Spector

My name is Carl Spector – and I am committed to criminal defense and the defense of DWI / DUI cases.

I am a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo where I received a bachelor’s degree in Communication. I received my legal education at New York Law School and Nova Southeastern University where I received my Juris Doctorate.

I am licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey and Florida (inactive) and the United States District Court Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District Court of New Jersey.

I assist clients all over New York City including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx, and in Nassau County, Suffolk County, Westchester County and Rockland County.

Experience

I worked as an attorney in the Bronx County District Attorneys office as an Assistant District Attorney for six years.

I truly believe my experience as a former prosecutor makes me uniquely suited to effectively and aggressively defend my clients charged with all varieties of crimes and DWI / DUI.

For the past eighteen years I have been representing people that have been charged with crimes throughout New York City and New Jersey. I have served as an attorney in countless criminal and DWI / DUI matters with full control of initial investigations, trial planning, motions, discovery, legal research and courtroom appearances and trials.

I have analyzed forensic evidence regarding arson investigations, developing a theory of litigation based on that analysis and have cross examined many police officers, detectives, expert witnesses including arson and explosives experts, electronic experts, ballistics experts, police laboratory chemists, physicians and psychologists.

I have successfully litigated and argued several pre-trial motions to suppress evidence based on probable cause to stop and frisk and violations of the defendant’s Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment rights. Since 2008 I have served as the Municipal Prosecutor in a large Bergen County municipality. I was recently reappointed to that position for 2011.

Robert Friedman

My name is ROBERT FRIEDMAN. I have been a life-long Western NY resident where I earned a B.A. from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo in 1975. In 1977, I earned my Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law.

I was admitted to all the New York State Courts in 1979 along with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York in 1979.

I definitely believe that being an active contributor in the community is crucial for a successful law practice. Therefore I’ve devoted much of my time to the citizens and business organizations that make the Buffalo area extraordinary. Here’s a brief summary of some of those commitments:

Michael Ranzenhofer

MICHAEL H. RANZENHOFER is a partner in the Friedman & Ranzenhofer law firm, I too take my responsibilities to the citizens of the Buffalo and WNY area very sincerely.

I also grew up in New York and received a B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) in 1976 from S.U.N.Y. Albany and a Juris Doctor in 1979 from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo.

In (1980) I was admitted to all New York State Courts, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York, and the U.S. Supreme Court (1985).

I am currently a member of the New York Senate serving the 61st District. For twenty years I was an Erie County Legislator, Erie County Legislature minority leader (1993 to 1995 and 2004) and majority leader (2003). I have worked on the Erie County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors (2002-2004); and as a task force associate of the Western New York Meals-on-Wheels, the S.U.N.Y., and the Health Services Institutional Review Board of Directors from 1998 – 2002.
